In 2007 the Goodall family tree was researched as far back as the 1600’s discovering Medwyn’s ancestral heritage to have originated in an ancient Celtic village in Wales near Snowdonia. The music is a personal journey home.
Medwyn takes us back to the style of his earliest works like Kindred Spirits, In the Stillness of a Moment, with music that is heartfelt, simple, and focused around Medwyn’s original love of Guitar.
This album is currently only available as an MP3 download (see download link below). However, due to public demand it will also be shortly available on CD. Please check this page in early March to purchase a copy. |

Medwyn, you are the Best !! I cannot believe how you continue to create such beautiful and fabulous music. "Origins" is magnificent. It reminds me of your earliest works but even better, with a more modern sound. I hope you never quit writing and recording. All the best.

I've been listening to clips of your newer albums. It's amazing that you still have that unique sound, yet it's more passionate, emotive. It awakened my early memories of listening to your music whilst travelling through the Greek mountains, sailing on the Turkish ocean, laying on a beach and driving through Gemcoe. I had a life that was blessed.
Then Two years ago my life was changed when two masked gunmen came into my shop and part of my leg was blown off with a shotgun. I've been told I wont work again. I lost my savings and insurances; it dismantled my life and my entire beliefs. I have been recovering slowly as I began to listen to your music. The trauma and anxiety is easing and once again I am feeling the peace coming in to my life like small shafts of light. Listening to your music with the same spirit of excitement.
Thank you so much Medwyn.

I tend to agree with Guy. This is Medwyn' s original style but a more modern mix. It is very much like 'Way of the Ocean' which for me has the most emotional (lump in throat)orchestral tracks on it (& believe me I find it harder & harder to find only one best favourite out of so many classic albums...DIFFICULT!!!!!!)may change my mind again when the next album comes out.

Truly a taste from the past and a wonderful collection of music. I remember well selling Medwyns early albums Emergence, Kindred Spirits and In the Stillness here in NZ and just how original and popular they were. It's somthing special when an artist is able to return to where they began in an album and I for one apprecite it as those early albums bring back some fond memories. Many thanks Medwyn.

You have no idea how long some of us have been waiting for this album! A true return to Medwyn's roots : beautiful mellow guitar with a sound that goes right back to the very early albums like Emergence and Innocence but with the superb sound and production values of the latest MG music albums. I really cant recommend this highly enough - calming, beautiful, gorgeous , you won't spend a better £4.99 this year (and downloading the tracks is a piece of cake too !) .. Thanks Medwyn, you've made an old fan VERY HAPPY !!

Congratulations Med! Origins is a truly stunning album, that's for sure. I have only heard the samples yet, but it's obvous that this album it all: Haunting melodies, gracious guitar and piano solo's, sparkling subtile percussion and the overall production quality is pure craftmanschip. I think Origins will make many fans very happy, especially the ones who love The Way of the Ocean.
