Wendy Grondzil and her music

Biography:
Wendy was born in Cape Town, South Africa: her ethnic heritage draws its roots from Wales, Scotland, and Africa. Sacred and classical music played a very significant role in Wendy’s family life as she grew up, leading Wendy to pursue training in the piano, and violoncello through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada.  Wendy also played the pipe organ for many years.

Wendy’s first explorations into the world of digital music were influenced by choral music, Gregorian chant, string ensembles, electric guitar, and voices from around the world. Wendy uses a digital piano, and her computer to create world beats with electronic, acoustic, orchestral and choral touches, all from the comfort of her own living room.

Wendy’s music today is an expression of ambient, ethic and downtempo themes, incorporating world instruments and vocals, combined with subtle touches of Nordic jazz and Western beats, transporting the listener to a place of meditation and peace.

Inspired by our common humanity, Wendy’s debut album is testament to hope, meaning and healing arising from the beauty of our shared frailty.  Ethnic, meditative vocals and keys, downtempo beats, and ambient Nordic jazz influences all combine to create a musical, meditative journey inward to peace.
